If you have a CD or DVD that has a minor scratch, one that will cause the disc to skip or pixelate, but not stop completely, this will work to get rid of the scratch and cause the skip to stop. If the scratch is deep enough to cause the disc to freeze entirely, then this is not likely to correct it. I tried it on a disc with a minor scratch and it worked well. On a disc with a deeper scratch, even going through the process a few times, it did not get rid of it.
